TV - ISUZU -"Joe Isuzu Save a Billion"

This was the last Joe Isuzu spot. It was my first TV commercial ever. I had written a running footage spot, because that's what junior copywriters at their first big agency do. Unfortunately, the client saw the script and thought it would be good for Joe. The entire creative department at Della Femina LA tried to talk them out of it, since they had all been working on getting a Joe spot for the previous six months, and this was just written to be a throwaway, running footage, $1000 off, local dealer spot. But the client insisted. And instead of a VO and an editing room, we had a shoot. With cameras and a director and makeup and catering and everything. The whole shebang. Since I had been in the advertising business a total of nine months, I figured I was just an innocent bystander, with a bit of dumb luck. The other creatives saw it differently. Somehow, I was a client-pleasing, brown-nosing, manipulative kiss-ass. Even though I had never met even one of the clients, and had yet to say more than a eight words to anyone at the agency above the position of junior account executive. Oh well, you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

PRINT - SPCA LA

SPCA LA wanted some ads that grabbed attention, focused on their new Spay/Neuter center and informed people that the money they took in went to help more animals.

PRINT - VOLVO

PRINT - Bev Hills Plastic Surgery

These are some ads I did for a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. We were having fun with the whole "beauty is on the inside" thing, and saying that the truth is that, fair or not, life really is easier for pretty people, which seemed appropriate for people that were seriously considering cosmetic surgery.

PRINT - LA DODGERS

The Dodgers wanted ads that highlighted their entertainment value, yet also appealed to a more sophisticated audience.

PRINT COPPERTONE

PRINT MelroseMAC

The client wanted to focus on customer service, and show that they're employees are as obsessed with Macs as the customers. Since many of their customers are those computer geeks that tend to be perpetual adolescents (as am I) we thought this was a good way to get their attention and say "Hey, we get you. Hell, we are you. " The final has a comic book style background of the store.

TV - MCI "Police Report"

I was involved with approximately 200 of these 10-10-220 TV spots. Someone had to do it. This one starred Wayne Knight from Seinfeld. The names of the rest of the creatives have been changed to protect them and their families.

TV - MasterCard PSA "Facts"

This is a PSA I did for Mastercard to convince kids not to be foolish with their credit cards. They could do whatever they wanted wit stolen credit cards.

TV - SIX FLAGS "No Rules"

TV - COPPERTONE "History"

Coppertone wanted to do a spot that showcased all the different suncare products they had invented over the years, but still had a sense of fun. There were a bunch so we took this approach.

TV - SEGA Let Us Play

This was a spec spot my friend Premier and I did for SEGA. It cost about $25 to make, about 20 years ago. And I still love it. Maybe because that voice...those lips...okay it was me. :P
